Assistant Pastor
REV. KENNETH C. MULLEN JR.

Rev. Kenneth C. Mullen Jr., is the proud Assistant Pastor of the Greater Progressive Baptist Church, where he serves under the leadership of Rev. Anthony R. Pettus Sr..  Rev. Mullen is native of New Orleans, LA, but moved to Indiana to play football at Indiana State University, 1989.  While attending ISU, Rev. Mullen completed his Bachelors of Science Degree, Majoring in Criminology.  In 1994 Rev. Mullen moved to the city of Ft. Wayne, where he was employed as a Family Case Manager, at the Allen County Division of Family and Children Services.  After 5 years of service at ACDFC, he moved on to The Villages of Indiana, social service agency, where he was a foster parent case manager and trainer, group home manager, and adoption specialist. 
In the year 2000 Rev. Mullen made a radical career change and moved into the Electrical field.  He worked through the Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC) apprenticeship program, and advanced to the position of Journeyman Electrician/Service Technician/Crew Leader.  Upon completing the Apprenticeship program, Rev. Mullen was certified by the Association of Builders and Contractors, through NCCER, to become an instructor for the apprenticeship program.  Utilizing this certification, Rev. Mullen, developed and founded the Pre-Apprenticeship program, and collaborated with the Fort Wayne Urban League to assist inner-city residence get involved in the ABC apprenticeship program.
In 2004 the LORD called Rev. Mullen to Preach the Gospel.  In 2006, Rev. Mullen was led to go into ministry on a full time basis.  As an act of “Faith” he resigned as electrician and began to serve the LORD.  In 2007, Rev. Mullen was promoted to his new position as the Assistant Pastor of GPBC.  Rev. Mullen received his Masters Degree in Theological Studies Oct. 2009, and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity, completing his coursework through Faith Evangelical Seminary, Tacoma, Washington.  Rev. Mullen has a passion for Christian Counseling and Teaching the Gospel, which are his primary duties at GPBC.  Rev. Mullen is also passionate in the area of Outreach and has assisted in the development of the Eden Green Outreach Ministry.
The family of Rev. Mullen consists of; Linda Mullen (wife), Kenneth Mullen III (son 17), Kendrick Mullen (son 14),  Jastin Stephans (son 17), Bryauna Stephans (daughter 20).  Linda is the ministry leader for Christian Women’s Fellowship and also Children’s Church here at GPBC.  All of the sons are engaged in various athletic events, and Bryauna is involved in Divine Judah (Praise Dance) as a dancer/choreographer. 
Rev. Mullen is humbled by being chosen to serve in the capacity in which the LORD has lead him.  Looking back to his childhood, as a Catholic, and seeing where God has brought him through the discipleship process as a Protestant (Baptist), all that can be said is “God is Good”.  There is so much more that wants to give to us, through relationship rather than religious practices, so “To God be the Glory!”
